The Study and Meaning of Dzogchen

In this class we study the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism (Dzogchen, highest Yoga Tantra, etc.), Advaita Vedanta (the non-dual school of Indian philosophy), along with the writings of H. P. Blavatsky and early theosophists. The focus is on the practical application of the teachings—meditation, equanimity, clarity of mind, awareness—to help us meet the challenges of both daily life and the spiritual path.

The class runs every Sunday from 10am to 12:30pm (PST).

Current study materials:

  1. Buddhist text: The Jewel Treasure of Dharmadhatu by Longchenpa (first hour)
  2. Theosophical text: Transactions of the Blavatsky Lodge (second hour)
  3. Advaita Vedanta text: Astavakra Samhita (last 30 minutes)
  4. Excerpts from The Blazing Lamp Tantra (first Sunday of each month)
